Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

QuizzApp lets you create quizzes and play them solo or live with friends. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are. For any privacy question, contact us through the contact page or at the email in section 9.

2. Data we collect

Account data (creators only): when you sign up we collect your name, email address, and — if you use Google or GitHub sign-in — the profile information those services share. Authentication is handled by our provider Clerk.

Player data: playing a quiz does not require an account. If you enter a display name it is stored with the play session, together with your answers, score, and time spent, so the quiz creator can see their results. In live rooms, your display name and progress are visible to the other players in the room while the game runs.

Contact & newsletter: if you use the contact form we store the topic, name, email, and message you submit. If you subscribe to the newsletter we store your email address.

Billing data: subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe shares only the subscription status and a customer reference with us.

Technical data: our infrastructure providers process IP addresses and request logs to operate and secure the service.

3. Why we process it

To provide the service: authenticating creators, saving quizzes, scoring plays, running live rooms, and showing creators their analytics.

To bill subscriptions and comply with accounting obligations.

To answer messages you send us and, if you subscribed, to send occasional product news (you can unsubscribe at any time).

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Where it lives (processors)

Clerk (authentication), Convex (application database), Stripe (payments), and our hosting provider process data on our behalf under their own security and data-processing agreements. Data may be processed outside the EU by these providers under appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

5. How long we keep it

Account and quiz data: for as long as your account exists. Deleting a quiz permanently deletes its questions and answers.

Play sessions: kept so creators can view their quiz results, until the related quiz or account is deleted.

Contact messages: up to 2 years, so we can follow up.

Newsletter emails: until you unsubscribe.

Billing records: as long as required by law.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to us via the contact page and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

7. Cookies

We use only the cookies required to run the service: authentication session cookies set by Clerk for signed-in creators. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Children

Playing quizzes requires no account and no personal data beyond an optional display name. Creating an account is intended for users aged 15 or older (or the digital-consent age in your country).

9. Changes & contact

We will update this page when our practices change and adjust the date below. Questions? Reach us through the contact page.
